
Abbaye et cloître de Montbenoit
Located in the Saugeais Republic, the Abbey of Montbenoît, founded in the 12th century by the Sire de Joux, is the best preserved medieval religious complex in the Doubs.
42 remarkable carved wooden stalls, 12th and 15th century cloister, chapels, monks' kitchen. Since 2017, the visit of the Museum of the Saugeais Republic is included in the visit of the Abbey.

Open all year round.
- Guided tours for groups: all year round by reservation at the Tourist Office (in French, English and German). Duration: 1 hour.
- From September to June, unguided tours with written commentary: during the opening hours of the Tourist Office (access to the monks' kitchen and the Musée de la République du Saugeais only with a guide). Duration: between 25 and 40 minutes.

Masks must be worn (can be purchased on site). Maximum 40 people per guided tour or at the same time on a self-guided tour of the monument. Health pass required since August 9th.
