Chapelle des Templiers

-

The Graveleuse chapel is located on the old Lyon-Besançon Roman road. Graveleuse belonged to the Sirerie du Revermont. It was given to the Knights Templar to set up a hospice for pilgrims on their travels.

The Graveleuse chapel is dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste, as are all the chapels of the Order of Malta. It is very old, as the date 1390 can be read on the entrance door. However, it is thought to date back to the 12th century.

Inside, in the choir, you can still see the keystone and the coloured image of the Maltese cross.
