This chapel was originally built in the 12th or 13th century. Rebuilt at the beginning of the 15th century by the Lord of La Palud, it has retained a Gothic nave and choir; the latter is vaulted with a ribbed crossing, the key to which bears the coat of arms of the said Lord. For a long time, Saint-Valérien served as a church for the inhabitants, who also maintained their cemetery near it. However, due to its difficult access, a church in the village centre was preferred in the second half of the 17th century: the church of Saint-Vincent.
On the outside, the entrance is surmounted by an imposing statue of the crowned Virgin, dating from the end of the 19th century. Inside, a polychrome wooden statue of Saint-Valérien (16th century) and a contemporary stained glass window (1974), whose coloured reflections spill onto the altar and the floor of the choir, in the early hours of a sunny day: a very singular atmosphere...
