Les Jardins sur Glantine
Stay in the heart of Poligny in an 18th-century town house and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Les Jardins sur Glantine offers 2 suites, "La Suite de l'Olivier" and "La Suite du Citronnier".
The Suite de l'Olivier, with its beautiful 55m2 surface area and high ceilings, can accommodate up to seven people. Its furniture and lounge with its empire fireplace and herringbone parquet flooring make it a unique place. The courtyard bedroom, with its 160x200 bed and Louis Philippe canopy, and its interior and exterior shutters, creates an ideal restful atmosphere. Next to it is a small 90x200 bed. The suite has its own private bathroom with shower and toilet. You'll find everything you need for your stay: hairdryer, towels, toiletries, homemade soap, etc. The living room has two convertible sofas, allowing up to four extra people to share the suite. An electric kettle and Nespresso coffee machine are available on a small desk.
The Citronnier suite is more modern in style, with brighter colours (orange, green, purple, etc.), grey tiled floors and a small kitchenette. This is an ideal suite for a family stay. Also measuring 55m2, the bedroom has a large, comfortable bed.
The bathroom has a shower and bath. The living room, in pure Louis XVI style, is adorned with trumeaux and wood panelling carved from limewood. A sofa bed sits next to a single bed, allowing three extra people to share the suite. At your request, Nathalie can provide a cot if you are not travelling with your own.
When you wake up, you'll climb the grand grey staircase. You'll be greeted with a festive breakfast! Located on the first floor of this beautiful "family home" style guest house, the breakfast room, with its high ceiling, sculptures and charming decor, will welcome you for a candlelit breakfast. You'll be offered regional products (cheese, Comté, local charcuterie...), a tea bar, two coffee machines (Nespresso and De'Longhi)... Nathalie will be offering you her home-made yoghurts and pastries (madeleines, brioches, cakes, muffins, jams, jellies, etc.), seasonal fruit and juices, as and when she feels like it and seasonal produce is available.
The garden and terraces
Relax under the shade of the vine in the inner courtyard, or on one of the garden terraces under the old fig tree. The terraced garden, based on the principle of a defensive garden, is criss-crossed by the 14th-century wall that encircled the medieval town of Poligny. Traces of this are still visible, such as the beautiful loopholes in the wall of the building. This house used to house the town's old bakery, and the inner courtyard was the village square at the time.
The hunting room
Sometimes the vagaries of the weather play tricks on travellers... That's when you'll find yourself in the hunting room, in an outbuilding of the Jardins sur Glantine, which is none other than the town's former 16th-century bakery. An ideal place to spend an unforgettable time in the Jura.
