The Lac de Fort-du-Plasne is a private natural lake in a small valley at an altitude of 885 m to the east of Fort-du-Plasne. With a surface area of around 1.2 ha and a length of around 150 m, it is surrounded by meadows and marshes. The lake extends to the north-east into an area of peat bogs.

Hiking: This 6-kilometre walk takes an average of 2 hours.
Fishing: This is a private lake belonging to the municipality of Fort du Plasne. Fishing rights must be requested from the owner and a fishing licence is available from the town hall.
Swimming: prohibited

The peat bog at the Fort du Plasne lake is a wetland and refuge for a rare biodiversity that plays a vital role in preserving water resources and adapting to climate change. It has been awarded the Ramsar label, an international convention for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
