So what did André Berthier discover in his search for the location of Alesia, in the course of his studies of Caesar's texts and his excavations in the Chaux-des-Crotenay, Syam and Crans area?
Walls with large units of stone, enigmatic stones and a soil that bears witness to a major protohistoric, Gallo-Roman and medieval occupation... Remains that the ArchéoJuraSites association has set itself the task of studying, identifying and protecting!
As it does every summer, the association is offering a range of activities to discover these largely unknown remains, with the aim of promoting this surprising archaeological and historical heritage. A permanent exhibition has been set up at the Espace Berthier in Chaux-des-Crotenay.
