Since 2008, Stéphanie Chassaing and Alexandra Leitão, two passionate sisters, have been delighting the taste buds of locals and visitors alike with their handmade chocolate creations. Today, they're taking their sweet adventure to the next level with the opening of a brand new chocolate centre in October 2024.
Located just a stone's throw from their historic boutique, the new centre will be spread over several areas entirely designed to offer visitors an immersive experience. The centrepiece is a chocolate creation workshop open to the public. Thanks to large windows, visitors will be able to observe the expertise of the two sisters and discover the different stages in the production of handmade chocolate.
But the workshop won't be the only new feature! A museum dedicated to the history of chocolate will also be opening its doors. The museum will give curious visitors the chance to delve into the fascinating world of cocoa. Visitors will be able to discover the secrets behind the processing of this precious bean.
The Chassaing-Leitão sisters are not stopping there. They will also be inaugurating a brand new shop, where their creations will be available alongside an exclusive selection of cocoa-based products from the four corners of the globe. Moulded chocolates, tasting bars, coated hazelnuts... there's something for every sweet tooth.
And to extend this gourmet experience, a cocoa bar will be offering an exceptional menu of hot drinks. Here, you can enjoy hot chocolates, coffees and teas from the most exotic destinations, while taking in the incredible view of Ornans and its valley. It's the perfect place to warm up with a drink, whether you're a fan of cocoa or tea.
The opening of this chocolate centre marks a major step forward for Stéphanie and Alexandra, who have been constantly innovating ever since they moved to Ornans. Their project is a testament to their passion and their desire to promote the art of chocolate well beyond the borders of the Doubs region.
