
Musée municipal d'Art et d'Histoire
Created in 1977, the Pontarlier Museum occupies one of the oldest houses in Pontarlier (15th century). The building has preserved a beautiful set of Art Nouveau stained glass windows and beams decorated with painted historical motifs dating from the 17th century.
On three levels, it presents collections related to the history of Pontarlier and absinthe, archaeological collections (from prehistory to the Middle Ages), Comtois paintings and earthenware.
Temporary exhibitions are regularly organised on various subjects.
