Rising to 643 metres, it offers a breathtaking view of the Suran valley and Gigny abbey. Further on, this exceptional panorama stretches as far as the high Jura chain and the summit of Mont Blanc!

The village of Véria lies on the southern slope of one of the folds of the Petite Montagne, nestling at the foot of Mont Charvet, on the edge of farmland and looking out across the Suran plain towards Gigny.
The grouped houses, built of stone and covered with Roman tiles, have very prominent roofs. Between the wash-houses and fountains flows a spring reputed for its medicinal virtues, particularly for eye care...
