Plateau des Conches

-

On the road that connects the hamlet of Combes to the village of Drom, the route des crêtes begins and takes you to Ceyzériat, on this first fold of the Jura, in the heart of the Revermont.
It is between Bresse and Bugey that the Revermont was born, about 10 million years ago, from the overturning of the Jura plates on the Bresse plain, following the push of the Alpine massif.
This area is marked by the history of mankind, as evidenced by the Chapelle des Conches, the remains of St Julien sur Roche and, further south, the Roman road or the site of a Gallic oppidum.
This natural belvedere, crossed by the GR59, welcomes walkers eager for the best view, the beauty of the landscapes, or for hiking with the many paths that are available to them.
Located at the crossroads of the communes of Drom, Ramasse and Jasseron, the Conches plateau offers a 360° panorama.
To the west, you can see the Burgundy basin and, further away, the Saône plain, the Chalonnais region and the relief of the Maconnais and Beaujolais.
To the north, a line of mountains awaits you: Montfort, Mont Châtel and Mont-Myon.
To the east, a succession of mountains intertwine between the dry valley of Drom Ramasse, the Suran valley, the Ain valley, the Bugey mountains and, on the borders, the Alpine chain with Mont Blanc, which you can see in good weather.
