Located at the foot of the Lomont Massif, near Pont-de-Roide and Montbéliard, the Noirefontaine dairy has 31 members. It has the particularity of being the most northerly of the Jura Mountains, at the entrance (or at the limit, depending on the area) of the Comté PDO zone.
On request, you can discover the production workshop where nearly 900 tons of Comté cheese are made each year. Accompanied by Philippe Croissant, an experienced, dynamic and passionate cheesemaker, you will walk through the three large pre-refining cellars with 500 places.
The visits are free and last for one hour and are available all year round. They end with the inevitable tasting of the products made by the master cheesemaker and his team. In the morning, you can also see the production process through the shop windows.
This large and bright shop has just been completely renovated. Much larger, it now offers two Comté cheeses matured on site (the rest of the production is matured by the Vagne company), the other Comtois PDO cheeses and small local cheeses. You will also find yoghurts, cream, raw butter and white cheeses.
A large selection of local charcuterie, wines and aperitifs are also available. Finally, you will find a wide range of delicacies and other tasty souvenirs from our region (but not only).
