Grottes de Baume-les-Messieurs

Right in the heart of a site classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France and Natura 2000, the caves of Baume-les-Messieurs are the jewel in the crown, 120 metres underground. They open onto a 70-metre long corridor, the veritable nave of a church. The 600 m of converted galleries feature chambers 20 to 80 m high, an underground river and lake, bats and blind shrimps, and a sound and light show. It's a complete change of scenery. Ambient temperature: 11°C.
