Sangé Sherpa, from Nepal to Besançon

Sangé Sherpa was born in Nepal in 1981, in a little house perched in the mountains of Taplejung. Getting to school was a long and difficult walk, but those years undoubtedly helped him forge his iron will and his appetite for physical effort. After college, he left to join two of his sisters in Kathmandu where he paid for his higher education by working as a trekking guide.

He already spoke English thanks to his studies, and decided to start learning French in order to stand out from the crowd and be able, unlike his colleagues, to guide French-speaking tourists. An excellent student, he was granted a French State bursary to attend a course at Besançon Applied Languages Centre, and settled here in the Jura Mountains.

Team Instinct France

Sangé Sherpa is a well-known personality in the trail-running world with a somewhat thought-provoking career. This runner is full of surprises, like when he made a solo ascent of Mont-Blanc at night! His favourite itineraries are long-distance ones with plenty of uphill sections. Nothing seems too difficult for this trail-running addict! Sangé Sherpa had never heard of trail-running until he came to France and worked at Décathlon, where he met other runners, became familiar with the Team Endurance Shop, and took up this discipline himself. Nowadays he is a renowned runner with a passion.
