La Caborde, a place to live ...

A place to discover the South Revermont, the wine and culture area at Orbagna welcomes you to its 5,000 m2 picnic area and visitor centre. Located on the Bourg-en-Bresse / Lons-le-Saunier axis, La Caborde offers exhibitions, events and screenings on four levels. La Caborde is one of the local names once given to the dry-stone huts found in the Jura vineyards. A place for storing small items of equipment as well as shelter, it is also known as a "caborne", "cadole" or "capette". Like a rope hut in the middle of the vines, La Caborde stands out in the landscape thanks to its unique architecture.

Find out more about La Caborde as an architectural achievement on the Observatoire des CAUE website and in a film made by Vincent Bidault and the CAUE du Jura:

ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE...
The different levels of La Caborde are accessible by two staircases that encircle the building, as well as by a lift. The activities and operation of the wine and culture area are in line with the site's philosophy: to promote the region and its resources, be they human, gastronomic, historical, heritage, cultural or natural, through events and services accessible to as many people as possible. At La Caborde, a branch of the Tourist Office equipped with free Wi-Fi, a shop, a tasting room, exhibition and projection rooms and a panoramic terrace will satisfy your curiosity. Outside, there are a number of facilities where you can take a pleasant break or set off to explore the villages in the foothills of the Jura. Signposted and well-maintained walking trails also start from the car park. Last but not least, weekly entertainment and special events will make you want to come to La Caborde with your family or friends for something new and exciting.

Wine Bar & Tasting

La Caborde offers a friendly, modern tasting area.

Although less well known than its big sisters, Château-Chalon and Arbois, the Côtes du Jura appellation covers a large part of the department and extends as far as the Porte du Jura:

Reds, floral whites, typical whites, vin jaune, vin de paille and macvin: it's up to you to choose from the twenty-four references offered by our ten partner winegrowers thanks to the wine fountain system available at La Caborde.

Information panels will help you learn a little more about the different aspects of the vineyard and the winemaking profession while tasting the different wines available.

You'll also be able to take away some local products, including the wine offered in the tasting fountains, thanks to our craft shop.

La Caborde is also the wine and culture area, a relaxing outdoor space where you can take a break, share a picnic with the family or explore the surrounding area on the hiking trails...

The outdoor facilities at La Caborde are open to all free of charge all year round.

With its little wooden bridge, insect house, sunbathing area, botanical trail, themed garden and other fun facilities, La Caborde is a haven of peace in an almost poetic atmosphere.

RELAXATION AND PICNIC AREA
The trees in the wine-growing area can be transformed into a pergola for a peaceful break.

Wooden kiosks, picnic tables and litter bins are available all year round at the entrance to the wine-growing area. You'll also find a variety of games and constructions for family fun. Children can enjoy a range of play equipment, including treasure hunts, hole-boarding, insect nesting boxes and a botanical trail. While you relax in the shade of the trees... In short, the outdoor spaces at La Caborde have plenty to delight and interest young and old alike!

DEPARTURE POINT FOR WALKS
La Caborde is also the starting point for a number of walks, with twelve signposted and maintained circuits in the Sud Revermont area.

One of the signs showing all the routes is on display in the wine-growing area, and the map of the routes "Promenades et randonnées - Le Sud Revermont" is on sale in the La Caborde shop for €5.

TEMPORARY INSTALLATIONS AND OUTDOOR EXHIBITIONS
The Aire viti-culturelle de La Caborde also organises outdoor exhibitions and artistic installations during its cultural season: cabins, land art, themed gardens and various other creations are imagined and designed by the Adapement's Green Team. You can also discover the 'destructured' cabordes created by two artists: Nicolas Broissand and Régis Crozat.
