
Pirey
Pirey is a French commune in the Doubs department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Pirey has three industrial estates in the direction of Besançon.
Places of interest
The church of Saint Martin, built in the 17th century, was restored in the following century and then refurbished between 1828 and 1867. It houses around forty listed or classified works of art (from the former Consolation convent).
Two winegrowers' cabordes, shelters measuring six metres in diameter made of dry stone gathered from the surrounding land with a corbelled vault.
Nature lovers can take a stroll in the Bois de la Chaille, a listed forest covering more than 150 hectares. Also worth noting: 1 viewpoint from the La Roche footpath over Besançon and the Ognon valley.
