So it's a potter's wheel and a woodturner! Four-handed creations by Fabienne Jeanneret, FabCeramic, and Stefan Fritz, L'Atelier. Ceramics are made of stoneware and wooden objects mainly with local species such as ash. Creation mainly of decorative or utilitarian objects, such as dishes, bowls, jewellery and, for Stefan, also furniture combining wood and metal.
The pieces are on display at La Théière Créative de Culoz or are available on order after initial contact by email or telephone. The workshops are located in Songieu and are only open during open days organised during the year...
Fabienne Jeanneret and Stefan Fritz work with clay and wood respectively using different techniques.
Stefan creates decorative objects on a wood lathe such as cups, bowls, rings or pens, he either leaves the objects with a raw part to see the starting structure or a particular grain or he tints them with water-based colours to show another aspect of wood grain. He also creates wood-metal furniture, his initial training being metalworker-locksmith, or he does carpentry work.
Fabienne works with sandstone, which has the advantage of being resistant and not frozen. She makes jewellery, boxes, dishes that are enamelled with bright colours. She works the surface of the earth with prints or strokes to allow the enamels to make shades of shades. His objects are made by lathe or plate, first fired at 950C, enamelled and second fired at 1200-1240C.
