In the heart of the Haut-Jura, in the historic centre of the lapidary and diamond trade, Valérie welcomes you to her shop in Bellefontaine to help you discover the world of precious and fine stones.
In 1988, Gilbert Duraffourg, lapidary and diamond craftsman, created his workshop, La Taillerie, which Valérie will take over in 2010. With some basic knowledge of cutting, acquired by her father who did not wish to pass on his know-how, she then learns the profession of gemmologist. Holder of an international diploma from the prestigious Gem-A, stones have no secrets for Valerie.
She will be able to advise you on the purchase of a gem according to what you are looking for: creation of a jewel, investment, collection, search for a colour, a shape, a specific stone, etc... Large choice of unmounted stones to discover in the shop, and many stones available on request thanks to a network of contacts throughout the world.
She has also established partnerships with French jewellers to offer unique, made-to-measure creations. Come and draw, imagine, transform or create a jewel to your image. Some jewels are presented in the shop to give you ideas, creations that are on sale in the shop or on the website.
The world of stones is a vast and wide field, Valerie is present on the spot to answer all your questions about a stone, the profession, a colour, the ethics of gems, a country, a geopolitical context, etc... In addition, each year she highlights a stone in order to present all its characteristics and specificities in a precise manner.
Annual temporary exhibition: Tourmaline
Valerie invites you until spring 2023 to come and discover Tourmaline, this stone which presents the largest panel of colour and in particular to come and admire paraiba tourmalines or blue lagoons: The most precious of the fine stones!
