The smell of rain after a long dry spell has a name: 'Petrichor', stone's blood. It refers to the meeting of three particular states that produces an intense odour, propagated in space by air bubbles.
For me, Pétrichor is also a moment of rejoicing after hard times. It's an ode to our capacity for resilience in the face of difficulties, finding paths to unexpected moments of blossoming in unsuspected places. Discovering possible worlds, infinitely possible and multiple. It's a story of alchemy.
The Pétrikor workshops are private studios that occasionally open their doors to the public to share their work and artistic collaborations.
This group of spaces, based in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region, can also be seen as a creative mechanism at work, linking the work of the Pétrikor workshops to other creative energies in France and abroad. It is a protean, cross-disciplinary place of research where artistic creation is seen in a broader vision of art.
The difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary lies above all in the attention paid to it.
