Marie-Ange Baumann has been making highly original pottery for over forty years, in the heart of the Lacs region, in the former cheese dairy at Le Frasnois. Passionate about working with clay, this designer produces new turned or modelled pieces every day in her studio. Fascinating changes in the material... Under the artist's expert fingers, from sketch to finish, a simple ball of clay is inexorably transformed into a decorative or everyday object - always unique.
Once fired, the piece is decorated. In her studio, Marie-Ange exhibits many of her glazed clay creations: salad bowls, gratin dishes, bowls, cups, jugs, lamps, trivets, honey pots and even jam funnels.
Enamelling with cobalt blue or copper green oxide, Marie-Ange gives her pieces the changing tones of "the lakes and forests of the Jura". Whether painted or engraved, her designs are also available in shades ranging from vivid to pastel, depending on the model, for creations that always demonstrate great mastery and a beautiful modernity.
