Les Échelles de la Mort

Located in the magnificent Doubs valley and once used by smugglers to get to Switzerland, Les Echelles and the whole of the Vallée de la Mort bear witness to the fear that these places, rich in legend, once aroused. These ladders overlook the Doubs between Switzerland and France. Once made of wood, now made of steel, they are riveted to the rock and tell the story of some of the most epic smuggling stories.
