Cascades du Trou de la Marmite
On the road to the Col de la Rochette, near the Croix du Grapillon, at the intersection of the small road leading back down to Cormaranche via the old Touvière quarry, a superb waterfall bursts out of the bed of the Mélogne.
This waterfall flows close to where the resort's very first adventure course was installed, but has now been dismantled. It continues with the many jumps made by the Mélogne when it rains.
How to get there: From Hauteville-Lompnes, take the D9 towards the Col de la Rochette. Approximately 1.4km after the clinic and hospital, you come to a discreet bridge over the stream. Turn right at the bridge and quickly park in an old quarry on the left of the road (not under the boulders, though!).
The path leads from the large boulder (see photo) down to the foot of the waterfall. You'll still need good footwear.
