THE MUST - THE HEDGEHOG WATERFALLS TRAIL
7.4km round trip (255m D+ - duration 3h) - Trail accessible to pedestrians only.

This is THE path to discover the waterfalls!

It allows you to admire all 7 waterfalls. Discover this sequence in one direction and then the other. A walk along the water's edge, with some narrow passages. The trail starts at the Maison des Cascades.

Main access - From car park P1 at the Maison des Cascades, 16 Moulin du Val 39130 Menétrux-en-Joux

You'll be a 5-minute walk from the largest and most impressive waterfall: the cascade de l'Eventail. Easily accessible, it's an ideal spot for short walks or visitors in a hurry. You can then climb to the top of the waterfall to continue on to the Grand Saut and so on. The finishing point at the top of the cascades is the Saut Girard, 35 metres high.

From the top of the Hérisson waterfalls, park at Ilay, in the commune of La Chaux-du-dombief: Saut Girard - Lac d'Ilay car park.

You'll start by discovering the first waterfall: Saut Girard, 35 metres high. After passing the guest house/snack bar, you'll follow the Hérisson downstream to the two most spectacular waterfalls: the Grand Saut (60m) and the Éventail (65m). This is also the starting point for the family walk, perfect for little feet.

Extend and complete your day with a visit to the Maison des Cascades, a museum where you can learn more about the site, the geology of the Jura and take home some wonderful souvenirs! Free visit with P1 car park ticket.
