Fruitiere Vinicole d'Arbois - Château Béthanie
> The cooperative
The Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois, a cooperative winery, was founded in 1906 by 26 winegrowers in Arbois in response to the phylloxera crisis and competition from low-quality wines. It was one of the first cooperative wineries in France and played a key role in obtaining the first French AOC for Arbois wines in 1936. In 1969, the cooperative acquired Château Béthanie, equipped to vinify the five Jura grape varieties, and home to modern pressing and vinification facilities. Since 2005, it has also been home to the Fruitière Vinicole de Poligny, housed in a former church, offering a unique historic setting for vinification and wine tasting.

- Le Combiné Pasteur
"Wine is the healthiest and most hygienic of drinks" (Louis Pasteur, 1866). The patriarch of wine-making, Louis Pasteur did a lot of work on wine and helped to preserve it over time. He was able to work on vines at Montigny-lès-Arsures to study vine and wine diseases (development factors, micro-organisms, oxygen, light, etc.). His house in Arbois is an absolutely unique heritage site, still inhabited by the presence of the scientist. The house has been preserved as it was when Pasteur lived in it, so you can immerse yourself in the life and work of the scientist.
Visit Pasteur's house and laboratory in Arbois, then come and taste 4 Jura wines at the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois. Book in advance at Louis Pasteur's house and laboratory in Arbois.
