Listed as a "Most Beautiful Village in France" and a "City of Character in Burgundy Franche-Comté", the Jura village of Château-Chalon welcomes over 100,000 visitors every year. They come from all over the world to discover the history of this region, its incredible natural heritage and, of course, its famous exceptional wines.
Housed in a historic residence - Le Froid Pignon, the abbey's former hostellerie where distinguished guests were received - the Maison de la Haute Seille offers visitors the chance to discover the local heritage through exhibitions, a tasting area, an escape game, events, an artistic programme and the reconstruction of a classroom from 1928. On site, you'll have access to tourist information, maps of the Jura and information on leisure activities in the region...
From May to October 2024, the Maison de la Haute Seille will be hosting the "L'arbre qui chante" exhibition, an artistic journey through the village, garden and museum, inviting visitors to reflect on the symbolism of the tree through different artistic perspectives.
The Maison de la Haute Seille also works in partnership with local producers and craftsmen to offer you original, quality products (delicatessen, jewellery, postcards, etc.), a panoramic terrace and an indoor area where you can sample the famous Vin Jaune, Vin de Paille and Macvin, or indulge in a Jura lemonade or ice cream, coffee or fruit juice.
Discover the local heritage, from the mysteries of Vin Jaune to the secrets of the village and the school of yesteryear, and let yourself be surprised by the riches of the Jura!
