Discover the Marcel Petite Comté cheese maturing cellars. This former military fort, situated at an altitude of 1100 metres in the Jura Massif, between Lac de Saint Point and the resort of Métabief, was built between 1879 and 1882 to protect the eastern border. From 1966, it was converted into Comté cheese maturing cellars by Marcel Petite. In over sixty years, this underground cathedral has already matured over a million exceptional Comté cheeses in a natural cave atmosphere. Enter the heart of our cellars and discover the slow maturing process.
Cave atmosphere: bring warm clothes and closed shoes.
In winter, access only via the village of Saint-Antoine.
Guided tours can only be booked online: comte-petite.com or at the Tourist Offices of the Pays du Haut-Doubs.
