Discover the Marcel Petite Comté cheese maturing cellars. This former military fort, located at an altitude of 1100 metres in the Jura Massif, between the Lac de Saint Point and the resort of Métabief, was built between 1879 and 1882 to protect the eastern border. From 1966, it was converted into Comté cheese maturing cellars by Marcel Petite. In more than sixty years, this underground cathedral has already matured more than a million exceptional Comté cheeses in a natural cave-like atmosphere. Enter the heart of our cellars and discover the slow maturing process.
Cave atmosphere: bring warm clothes and closed shoes.
In winter, access only via Saint Antoine.
