Le lac des Rousses

Geography & environment :
Located at 1075m, the Lac des Rousses is surrounded by peat bogs which give the site a remarkable biological value. The water of this lake is so pure that it supplies many communes with drinking water. You can also discover the typical fauna and flora of the Haut-Jurassien peat bogs by walking along a thematic trail along the lake. Take advantage of the clarity of the water to swim or simply contemplate the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. A nautical base with equipment rentals allows you to enjoy the place.
Surface area: 97 ha. Depth : 22 m.

Access
There are many ways to reach the lake of Les Rousses, there is something for everyone! Don't hesitate to come and buy a topo-guide of the walks and hikes in the Les Rousses resort at the Tourist Office.
There are 2 free car parks on site: one on the edge of the lake and one 500m to the right before the lake (a flat, stony path leads to the rocky outcrop of the lake and then you can cross over to the water sports centre and the beach via the path above the peat bogs).

Attention, to preserve the quietness and the nature of the site:
Motorized boats are not allowed,
Some areas of the lake are protected, please respect the signs in place,
Our friends the animals, even held in lead, as well as the bicycles are not authorized on the beaches, the lawns and on the pedestrian way along the banks of the lake, from May 15th till September 15th. Thank you for your understanding.
