When we think of Les Rousses we inevitably think of the resort's 2 mountain lakes, Lamoura Lake and Les Rousses Lake where you can stay cool in summer. These lakes have beaches with facilities, and lifeguards are present during the summer season.
The designated footpaths with walkways on stilts offer pleasant family walks during which you can admire the beautiful peatlands that surround both lakes.
Located in the heart of the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park, the resort of Les Rousses makes the ideal base from which to explore along the many walking and hiking trails that cross the spectacularly colourful and peaceful landscapes of ridges, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, forests and meadows...
Take to the legendary trails of the Grande Traversée du Jura or the Echappée Jurassienne! Whether you're into leisurely walks, sporting challenges or just love hiking, you're bound to find your ideal itinerary.
To make the walking more fun for the whole family, try the permanent Baliseor trail around Les Rousses Fort, or the discovery trail on the theme of Gruyère cheese production at the mountain farms!
It's not unusual for hikers to cross the Swiss border along their way, so don't forget to carry ID.
Experience a commando training session from the inside and relive the military history of this fort which is now a tourist attraction.

A short distance from the resort, the Polar Park plunges you into the animal world.
In the company of a keeper, you'll enjoy an amusing and lively tour that unveils some of the wildlife of Eastern Europe (Greenland dog, yak, fallow deer, reindeer, European bison, red deer...).
Finish your tour with an unguided visit to the mini-park to see the farm animals, exhibition and film.

Close to the lake and resort of Les Rousses, Le Rochat golf course stretches across rolling terrain, traversed by a river, in the heart of the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park. This 18-hole course opens daily from April to November.
Added bonus: Two small guesthouses and a restaurant, open all year round, can be found near the golf course.
