This last vineyard walk takes you from the winegrowing village of Lavigny to the Ravaillac footpath, on the first foothills of the Jura Mountains. You'll explore along streets that ooze with history and enjoy the superb vineyard landscape.

This bucolic walk features an ancient milk transporter, a cable system created in 1893 to carry down the slope, from the hamlet of Chaumois-Boivin to the village dairy of Blois-sur-Seille, the churns of milk required in the production of Comté cheese.

Truly one of a kind, vin jaune is made through a specific ageing method. As the wine matures, a veil of yeast develops at its surface, protecting the wine from oxidisation and depriving it of any contact with the surrounding air. This veil of yeast is what gives vin jaune its mysterious organoleptic characteristics of such complexity.
