Fruitière du Plateau Arboisien
On the border between the communes of Arbois, Chilly-sur-Salins and Ivory, the Fruitière à Comté du Plateau Arboisien collects milk every day from twenty farms to make Comté PDO, Morbier PDO, Arboisien and many other cheeses!
It all starts in the meadows with the Montbéliard cows, the keepers of a well-kept secret: that of passing on the tastes and aromas of the flowers in the fields to their good milk! This is the very soul of our industry!
Every day, the producers milk the cows twice a day, looking after their welfare and harvesting fodder for the winter. Then comes the milk collection, when everyone is asleep, to take the precious milk to the dairy in Ivory.
The next stage? Cheese-making, thanks to the skills of the cheesemakers who are up even before the sun rises!
Then finally comes the role of the ripeners, who use their talent to sublimate the very special flavours of our cheeses.
These essential stages enable us to offer you exceptional products that will awaken all your senses in a world that demands that we rigorously meet strict social and environmental requirements.
Quite simply, our work makes sense wherever your taste buds and your happiness are expressed!
Anchored in the Jura region, our Comté cheese dairy values the work of men and women to sublimate our cheeses and awaken your taste buds...
The production site of the Fruitière du Plateau Arboisien is located in Ivory, and can be visited (booking required).
