Day 1 - Morning

Visiting the characterful town of Arbois

To get your weekend off to a great start, we recommend you take a stroll in the ancient streets of Arbois, the capital of Jura wines.

With its golden stone and half-timbered houses, there's no disputing that the medieval town of Arbois is full of surprises!

Among other things, it is well-known for being the home town of Louis Pasteur, so don't miss this opportunity to visit his house...

Here, the hardest part is choosing!

Le Bistronôme, a real institution in Arbois, is a creative restaurant that revisits the classics of (delicious) Jura gastronomy.

We know for certain that you'll take a while to choose between chicken with morels, trout in vin jaune and other tasty specialities. But the good news is that you can't go wrong!

Tasting the inimitable wines of Jura

Wine tasting is a great experience in itself, but here's your chance to do so in a superb gothic-style cellar that will plunge you instantly into the very special world of Jura wines. In the cellars of Johanna I (Maison Arnoux), you'll enjoy a timeless experience as you learn to recognise and appreciate vin jaune, vin de paille and macvin, the endemic wines of the Jura vineyard.

Alcohol can damage your health. Please drink responsibly.

Day 2 - Morning

Feast your eyes in Baume-les-Messieurs

Officially among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, Baume-les-Messieurs alone is truly a treasure.

It is tucked away in a steephead valley, a typical feature of the local region where there are two sites you absolutely must visit while you're in the area:

- firstly, the Imperial Abbey, founded in the 6th century. This Cluniac site is an architectural and historical wonder, not to be missed!

- the extraordinary Tufs waterfall. With its unusual shape, flowing over a tuff, (the stalagmite that gives it its characteristic appearance), it creates a giant mister... and it's a sight you'll never forget!

Memorable...

Visiting a traditional Comté cheese dairy

Comté cheese is part of the very identity of the Jura Mountains, so you cannot possibly go home without visiting a dairy!

But what exactly is a Comté dairy? It takes a large quantity of milk to produce a wheel of Comté cheese. This is, quite simply, where the milk produced by different local farmers is brought together, to be transformed into cheese on the premises. So, are you ready for the delicious experience of visiting the local dairy of Poligny-Tourmont?

A delicious visit!
