The ViaRhôna

The ViaRhôna itinerary stretches between Lake Geneva and the Mediterranean Sea! It passes through the southern tip of the Jura Mountains and follows the Ain riverbank from Sesseyl to Belley. This greenway snakes its way across the bucolic Bugey countryside. Certain sections of the cycle path are shared with rollerskaters and hikers. It is easy to reach and has plenty of car parks dotted along the way for the convenience of users. Take the time to stop to visit nearby sites such as the Grand Colombier or the majestic Glandieu waterfall.

The EuroVélo6

In the Jura Mountains there are approximately 160 kilometres of EuroVélo6 cycle paths. This cycling itinerary passes Dole, Besançon and Montbéliard, three towns set amid magnificent scenery on the edge of the massif. Following the River Doubs, the safe, flat cycle path is suitable for families with young children. Along the way, you'll be able to watch boats passing through the locks, and admire the tall cliffs, lush green meadows and woodlands. We highly recommend you stop off at the towns to visit the Collegiate Church of Dole, the Citadel of Besançon and the town centre of Montbéliard. The railway stations dotted along the itinerary mean you can catch a train back to your starting point.
