Arbois ticks all the boxes for gourmets. This winegrowing village, home of the very first designation of origin, is as generous and welcoming as it gets.

Arbois is a key stop on the Jura wine road. This gastronomy hotspot certainly knows how to tempt fans of good food and, of course, has no shortage of restaurants, food artisans and fine-food shops.

Domaine de la Pinte
Domaine de la Pinte

A reference in Jura, the Domaine de la Pinte boasts a recognised expertise in vinifying high-quality wines in the purest of Arbois traditions. In 1999, the estate took a pioneering step by adopting organic vine cultivation methods, and converted to biodynamic winegrowing in 2009.

Don't miss this chance to visit the beautiful vaulted cellars and taste some of the fabulous wines that are left here to age.

Domaine Jérôme Arnoux

The Domaine Jérôme Arnoux invites you to go down into its exceptional medieval cellar. Built in 1322 by Joanna I, it is the cellar in which the winegrower ages the best vintages. It is also the only cellar of Gothic style in Arbois, and is a listed 'Historical Monument'.

An immersion in winegrowing history

Visit the majestic Château Pécaud, in Arbois. This hotspot of Jura heritage retraces winegrowing history, in particular the work on the vines, the winegrowers' social and economic history and the vinification of Jura wines: ploussard, trousseau, chardonnay, vin de paille, macvin, vin jaune.

Two restaurants for divine Jura-style dining

Bistronome
Le Bistronome

This tavern is an institution in Arbois. The ideal place to try the specialities of Jura and the Franche-Comté region in a typical setting: Comté cheese fondue, chicken deglazed with vin jaune, jésus saucisson from Morteau, Jura trout, local ice cream with griottine cherries from Fougerolles.

Maison Hirsinger

The Maison Hirsinger is a creator of grand cru chocolate. Édouard Hirsinger, winner of a 'best chocolatier in France' award, creates what he calls 'living chocolates' with a focus on quality, technique and freshness. Two suggestions to explore the vineyards

Vineyard excursions

On the vineyard trail
Benjamin BECKER / BFC Tourisme

This walk takes you along the vineyard trail, exploring the Corvée and Curon wine terroirs. These steep hillsides produce excellent wines, reflecting the very essence of the Arbois terroir: ideal elevation and sun exposure, stony soils above a deep layer of grey marl, set below the limestone cliffs.

Wine tourism at Domaine Rolet
Domaine Rolet

Visit and appreciate the wines of one of the most beautiful estates of Arbois. Domaine Rolet invites you to taste Arbois, Côtes du Jura and L'Étoile wines in its 14th-century cellars, but also to explore the local delights on foot, on horseback or by E-bike. A tasting of the estate's own wines will be organised in the middle of the vineyard with a typical Jura-style snack known as 'mâchon' (cheese, charcuterie, etc.).
