The top products of the Jura Mountains: cheese and salted meat

Tasty tours on the theme of comté!

To find out why our Comté cheese is so good, you'll need to come to where it is produced right here in our wonderful Jura Mountains. Let's take a closer look at 3 places where you can find out more about and taste this great cheese:

The maturing cellars

It is in the complete darkness and utter silence of these cheese cathedrals that the wheels of cheese are left to mature (from 4 to 30 months for the oldest) until they develop their full flavour. The maturing cellars are the final step on the Comté journey, which passed through a cheese dairy before that. The cheese dairy is where the comté is made using milk that has been collected from various local farms.

The Maison du Comté, an experience that calls on all the senses

Embark on an immersive journey into the world of Comté! Poetic films, expert techniques, sensory games, tastings and so much more await at this visitor's centre for the whole family that calls upon all 5 senses!
