Have you heard of our local authors? Marcel Aymé of course, Louis Pergaud and his famous War of the Buttons, and other more contemporary writers from the Jura such as Bernard Clavel and Pierric Bailly! Their stories are often inspired by their home region so it's a great way to really embrace the atmosphere of the Jura Mountains.
And for those who prefer to flick through a wonderful book of images, talented photographer Julien Arbez will whisk you away on a discovery of the wildlife of the Jura!
'Explor Game' riddles to solve in the great outdoors!
Are you a fan of escape rooms? Then you'll love this outdoor version called 'Explor Game'!
This game is based on the same principle as the indoor version, but this time you'll be outdoors, so you can have some fun as a group and get plenty of fresh air at the same time!
The good news is that there are so many Explor Games to choose from in the Jura Mountains: Les Fourgs, Lac Genin, Lamoura and plenty of other places where you'll need to rack your brains surrounded by nature.
A tasty afternoon snack
In the Jura Mountains, there are so many of grandma's recipes to choose from, with something to suit all tastes! For example, the famous apple crâpés, or 'gâteau de ménage'... not-to-mention the unmissable 'galette comtoise' if you come to visit around Epiphany. And if you're not too talented in the kitchen, a mug of hot chocolate with some bread and jam will certainly do the trick too!

You must have heard of tartiflette, a Savoyard speciality made with potatoes and reblochon cheese? Morbiflette is simply tartiflette but with Morbier cheese instead of the famous Savoyard alternative!

The hot box
The Mont d'Or, famous vacherin cheese from the Haut-Doubs, is one of the most iconic cheeses in the Jura Mountains!
It is of course possible to enjoy it cold, but if you put it in the oven, that's when you'll get the delicious 'hot box'. With some garlic and a glass of Jura wine, it's an easy recipe to make and guaranteed to please all your guests!
